Borderlands 2 keeps the one action skill and three skill trees per character, but now the characters all have backstories. The playable characters bring a lot to the table, going bigger than the first game did. Borderlands 2 also marks the first time Gearbox worked with the band The Heavy for intro/credits music. The ambient music for the Highlands area evokes a feel of wide open spaces, while something like the Caus tic Caverns and its combat music evoke the opposite, to make players feel surrounded by foes in an enclosed space. There are two types of music in Borderlands 2, ambient and combat, and not only does each track fit its location, but it goes a long way in making each area feel unique. The game also hits a slam dunk with the music.
